We provide thorough assessments for children that address various diagnoses,
including ADHD and specific learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia). To
schedule an assessment for your child, please fill out our online enquiry form.

These assessments offer crucial insights for the child, parents, teachers, and
caregivers regarding any issues affecting the child's learning or development.

As a result of a learning/educational assessment, our psychologists can diagnose:

  • Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia (issues
    with reading, spelling, writing, math)

  • Attention and memory difficulties (e.g., ADHD)

  • Intellectual disability

  • Intellectual giftedness

What does the assessment involve?

  • The assessment process usually spans 3-4 weeks and includes:

  • An initial session with the child's parents to discuss background information
and determine if an assessment is appropriate.

  • Assessment sessions with the child.

  • A feedback session where a detailed report is provided, and feedback on the
assessment results and any diagnosis is given.

Will the psychologist provide a diagnosis?

Yes, a diagnosis will be provided if your child meets the criteria for a specific
condition.
After an ADHD or learning assessment, it might be necessary for your child to see a
paediatrician or psychiatrist. Please note that our practice does not have
psychiatrists or paediatricians, and any additional fees from these specialists will be
separate from our assessment fee.

How much does an assessment cost? and what is the process?

Before committing to the full assessment a initial screening process is conducted to gather more information to see what is required. Cost $260.

This includes relevant questionnaires, which are sent out to be completed prior to the initial assessment.

A 1 hour clinical interview inclusive of feedback of questionnaires.

If results from the initial questionaries did warrant further investigation of learning difficulties and/or ADHD then a full comprehensive assessment would be completed and the $260 would be deducted from the total fee which is $2850. This covers the assessment sessions, a detailed written report, and a feedback session.

Medicare rebates are available for these assessments.

Please note, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking your child's assessment.
